The sports curriculum at EIS is meticulously designed to help students develop and enhance skills such as strength, speed, endurance, agility, flexibility, control, balance, teamwork, leadership, confidence, and self-discipline. We believe sports are an integral part of a child’s education, allowing our students to explore various sports before choosing their specialization in secondary classes.

Exercise is foundational to modern school children’s physical and mental strength and emotional well-being. The five most common deficits in twenty-first-century school children’s lives have become sunlight, upright posture, physical movement, human social interaction, and restful sleep. Exercise and organized sports are two of the most potent antidotes to the debilitating effects of changing modern diets and increasingly sedentary lifestyles.
At Elegant International School (EIS), boys and girls from Juniors to Class 2 engage in a range of exercises focused on the upper body, lower body, and core, which help in body development, coordination, and balance. From Classes 3 to 5, students learn eight different sports over three years. During this time, we study the natural growth of each student alongside body training and prepare an analysis for each student. In Classes 6 to 10, our students are encouraged to select one sport to train in and play competitively.

Senior Mentoring Program
From One Generation To Another
Teacher teaches student, and student learns from the teacher. That’s how things usually run, don’t they? But have you ever heard of a student teaches student approach? At Elegant International School (EIS), an independent Islamic-faith school, we have embraced this innovative method through our ‘Senior Peer Mentoring Program,’ now in its second year. This program aims to involve our senior students in guiding their junior peers during morning roll call sessions, providing motivational advice, study tips, and guidance on establishing S.M.A.R.T goals.
Since 2021, senior students have been given the opportunity to enhance their own learning by taking ownership of their education while engaging in meaningful interactions with their peers. The Senior Peer Mentoring Program supports our mission to create a positive and compassionate school atmosphere. In light of recent events, including the ‘work-from-home’ period of learning, the “students teaching students” model encourages cooperation and understanding, aiming to re-establish connections and address learning gaps that may have emerged.
Through this program, students learn to help and empower each other, fostering an environment of mutual support rather than competition. They reap not only academic benefits but also social and emotional advantages. Senior students at EIS actively assist juniors in setting SMART goals, managing daily homework tasks, and handling formal assessments. They also educate younger students about the importance of mental health and provide advice on coping mechanisms for stress associated with high school study. Additionally, they offer guidance on building friendships and positive networks, developing resources for use in their mentoring sessions.
Weekly training workshops prepare senior cohorts for their mentoring roles by teaching communication strategies. These workshops, led by the secondary school coordinator, help mentors gain essential skills such as goal setting, identifying personality strengths and weaknesses, and providing constructive criticism, enabling them to become effective and successful mentors.

Elegant International School is very proud of its work experience program. All 10th class students are required to complete a minimum of 30 hours, or the equivalent of 5 days, of work experience during a time specified by the school. Work experience allows students to:
